Pleasant Ridge Internal Medicine and Wellness is a professional medical practice dedicated to providing health care services to adult residents throughout Arlington and surrounding areas. Emphasizing wellness, prevention, and treatment; our providers and staff work to provide the highest quality of care available to you and your family.

Theresa D. Stretch, M.D.

Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Stretch is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a magna cum laude graduate of Incarnate Word College in San Antonio and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Stretch completed an internship in Preliminary Medicine at John Sealy Hospital, Galveston, and a residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

She is a proud mother of four active boys, and enjoys attending her husband’s car races and her sons’ go-kart races; she loves to travel and experience new places and new cultures. She is also an active volunteer in her local community and enjoys cooking for family and friends.

Chelsea Doyen, M.D.

Dr. Doyen is a proud native of Carrollton and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999. After working in advertising for a few years, she returned and completed med school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies in 2012. After medical school, she completed a residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York.

Dr. Doyen is Board Certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Her emphasis is on preventative medicine. She is happily married with two small children, and in her free time she loves traveling, interior design, and watching her beloved Aggies.

Heather B. Rich, FNP

Heather is a Kentucky native that moved to Texas in 2014. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville. Heather worked as a registered nurse in both inpatient and outpatient oncology settings, and in 2010 returned to the University of Louisville to pursue her goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. She graduated near the top of her class with a Masters of Science concentrating in family practice and obtained her certification from The American Association of Nurse Practitioners. When not at the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and two spectacular children.

Marie T. Murphy, APRN, CNM

Patients of Pleasant Ridge Internal Medicine can enjoy listening to Marie’s delightful, lilting accent. An RN graduate of St. Finbarr’s School of Nursing in Cork, Ireland, Marie graduated as a Nurse Midwife from Renfrewshire School of Midwifery in Paisley, Scotland and practiced Midwifery and Women’s Healthcare in numerous areas of the world including the UK, Australia, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Marie has lived and practiced in the US since 1969. She and her family now live in Northwest Fort Worth. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.

 

Meet the Staff at Grand Prairie

Olubunmi Awe (Bunmi), FNP

Bunmi relocated from Nigeria in 2003 to be with her family in Houston Texas. She completed her Bachelors Degree at Prairieview A & M University in 2008. Moved to Arlington Texas in 2009 to start her career at Medical Center Arlington where she worked for 5 years as a staff RN, and unit supervisor on the Neuro Unit. She worked as a Director of Nursing with home health agency and also as an Utilization management Nurse Consultant with an insurance company. Her passion to serve the community led her to further her career; She graduated with honors in 2014 from Walden’s University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She spends her leisure time volunteering at several outreach programs and empowering the youth. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioner and Golden Key Society. She currently lives in Grand Prairie, Texas with her awesome husband and two delightful children.

Arunpriya Vadivelu, MD

Dr. Vadivelu is board certified in internal medicine who is in practice for 14 years. She graduated from medical school in India and moved to US in 1999. She completed her internal medicine residency in St. Barnabas medical center, Livingston, NJ in 2004 and joined Easton hospital PA where she worked as a hospitalist for 6 years. As an academic hospitalist, she cared for acutely sick patients in the hospital while teaching medical students and residents in training. She was a member of winning team of ACP challenge bowl NJ chapter and was recognized as a star physician for clinical excellence. She worked in outpatient practice from 2011 with Lehigh Valley Health network PA and Banner Health Network AZ before moving to Arlington Texas. She has a special interest in women's health and management of chronic medical conditions. She is married with 2 children and enjoys travel and yoga in her spare time.
